Accommodations
Jenny and Sal first came to San Polo in 1999. The following year they began renovating the properties which are now used as holiday accommodation. The Tre Stallette (three stables) would have originally been used to keep the mule, a pig and hens. They’re set on a terraced hillside, close by the historic centre of San Polo dei Cavalieri, in a garden with olive trees and vines. The buildings themselves have been converted into 4 rustic style rooms – bedroom, kitchen, storeroom and bathroom - and include a patio, garden, terrace and barbecue. From the garden and terrace we continue to enjoy the spectacular views of the Aniene and Tiber valleys which sweep from the mountains to the Mediterranean.
The main accommodation is in the historic centre, which dates from the 11th century. During the renovation of our own apartment we acquired cellars below the property, which had been used by previous owners to store wine, oil, grains and even a mule on the stairs. This part of the house has been completely restored and provides an apartment with living room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom and a splendid view across the rolling hills of the Aniene valley.
